Boy, I really am a terrible blogger. But I promise, my skills as a writer are not the only thing that have kept me away. Most of my time since my last post has been spent focused on RSAStudios. It’s been very exciting and has kept me busy. My shop has been open since the end of March, but more than half of my orders occurred last month! I’ve been working on new products, shapes, and getting new colors in stock. If you haven’t had a chance, head over to RSAStudios on etsy.

They’re Here, They’re Here!

It’s been a long time coming, but they have finally arrived! My painted clutches are assembled and boy, are they beautiful! I kind of want to keep them ALL for myself, but as I already promised I’d be selling them, I suppose I can’t go back on my work…

I’m still working on a few finishing touches, like adding wrist straps and cross body straps to a few of the styles. The straps will be removable for those of you who would prefer to carry them in hand, of course.

Clutches and Progress

A few weeks ago, my mom came and stayed with Eric and I for a few days. We were finally able to go shopping together for the supplies for the painted clutches that I mentioned a few posts back. We ended up hammering out all the details and I was really glad to see how excited she was by it. I showed her all the different clutch shapes as well as card cases, passport holders, and key chains. It all started to feel real once I purchased the fabric and vinyl. We settled on a few details that I was having a hard time making my mind up about (Thread color, velcro color, etc) and that definitely helped ease my mind.

New Shapes!

New shapes are almost here! I have been working on trying to come up with a new, unique shape for my leather earrings. The leather earrings game is saturated with tear drop and feather shaped earrings. Seriously, everywhere I look, I see tear drops in every shape possible (Yes there are different shaped tear drops). I wanted something different when I started out, so I started with the circles. They look great on me, so I started pumping them out like nobody’s business.

Painted…. Accessories

I’m really excited about this project I’m working on! I want you guys to be excited too so I’m giving a little sneak peak 🙂 I’ve been toying with this idea for some time now, but have been trying to figure out exactly how to execute it. I’ve had a lot of canvases sitting around taking up space that I haven’t really known what to do with. I liked them but didn’t love them. I thought about painting over them completely, but I liked them enough to not want to do that. So I added to them. Some drips, some splatters, and a lot of neon later, I present to you PAINTED CLUTCHES!!! Are you excited now?

New Earrings!

I have a few new styles going up in the shop this week. Yay! I’m mostly focusing on leather earrings, as I just love the stuff. It’s fun to work with, it smells amazing, and the range of colors is so beautiful. However, I’m also creating a few styles of felt backed vinyl earrings, which are vegan friendly. The felt used as a backer is polyester, not wool.

You can use coupon code ‘valentine16’ in the shop to receive a 15% discount on your purchase of leather earrings, now through 2/6. All earrings will be to their new owners before Valentine’s Day!

How to Upcycle a Cheap Faux Leather Cuff

A few weeks ago I was spending some leisure time in Hobby Lobby, one of my favorite craft stores, browsing pretty much every single aisle. I happened upon a section of clearance jewelry and found these 2 green faux leather cuffs

I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with them, but at $1.80 I felt I couldn’t pass them up. I knew I would be able to make something nice out of them!
