Painted…. Accessories

I’m really excited about this project I’m working on! I want you guys to be excited too so I’m giving a little sneak peak 🙂 I’ve been toying with this idea for some time now, but have been trying to figure out exactly how to execute it. I’ve had a lot of canvases sitting around taking up space that I haven’t really known what to do with. I liked them but didn’t love them. I thought about painting over them completely, but I liked them enough to not want to do that. So I added to them. Some drips, some splatters, and a lot of neon later, I present to you PAINTED CLUTCHES!!! Are you excited now?

These are actual paintings that I have painted and cut. They will be lined with fabric on the inside and have a pvc covering which means they will last for a very long time and be easy to clean! Right now I’m making two sizes in the clutch, (11×7, 8×5) a passport cover, a card and cash holder, and triangle key chains.

It’s been a pretty labor intensive process, having to remove the canvas from the stretcher bars, so once I’ve used up the canvases I don’t want sitting around anymore, I’ll hopefully be moving onto rolled canvas, which will then also allow me to make larger sizes. I’m going to have some help on this project as well. My awesome mother has agreed to help me with the sewing, as I’ve never been good with a sewing machine :/

I’d also like to make a long skinny clutch, a tall narrow size, and even a laptop case. I may even toy with the idea of adding straps, but we’ll see!

Hope everyone is having a happy hump day!
